DC Personal Trainer Hosts Protein Shake Social

We have moved into our brand new gym and to get some excitement going we decided to host a protein shake social for our members after a group metabolic class last week.

Our metabolic classes are 45 minute of fun butt kicking. We rotate through 4 or 5 stations for a specific amount of time, take a short rest, and keep on going. This form of exercise really gets your heart rate up and burns fat for at least 24 hrs AFTER you are done working out! Yes, that right, after you are done working out. Smart resistance training does the same thing.

I was really impressed at how hard everyone worked and was excited to make shakes for everyone. We made four different flavors all based on Source Naturals – True Whey, oz, 16 powder
(see link below!).

The val slide is a great tool to help you get the most out of several fat burning, muscle build moves. Here I am showing you the val slide plank. This is for those who have already mastered a regular plank safely and with good form. This is way tougher than you think!

Washington, DC Weight Loss Expert Shares an Ice Cream Recipe (Video!)!

Ingredients

2 cups cream
¼ cup water
1tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp mint extract
pinch of salt
green food coloring (optional, only if you want it to be green, otherwise it will be yellow because of the egg yolks)
4 egg yolks
½ cup of no cal sweetener
½ cup of chopped sugar-free chocolate (I like dark)

Directions

1. In a microwave safe bowl, heat cream and water until steaming (2min).
2. While cream is heating, mix everything but the chocolate together well. Add to hot cream and return to microwave until steaming, but NOT boiling (1min).
3. Follow instructions on your ice cream maker. Be sure to add chocolate half way through the process.

Washington, DC weight loss expert Josef Brandenburg (that’s me!) shows you how to make low-carb mint chocolate ice cream with NO sugar alcohols. WAY better than store bought low-carb ice cream. Mint happens to by my favorite but this is a great base for other flavors too.
